Tumblr Tuesdays: The Hawkeye Initiative

Tumblr Tuesdays is a new weekly post here at Girls Read Comics. We’ll be using to focus on the weird, wonderful things that we find on tumblr (except for fan art) that we think need more than a like or a reblog. Enjoy!

We tweeted this out a couple days ago when it first took fire across the comic blogosphere, but The Hawkeye Initiative is still so hilarious and on point that we had to make it the focus of today’s Tumblr Tuesday.

In the words of Gingerhaze: how to fix every Strong Female Character pose in superhero comics: replace the character with Hawkeye doing the same thing. Thus The Hawkeye Initiative was born, with many artists taking part in replacing absurdly sexist comic book heroine art with the best archer in the word.

Under the cut below is a gallery of some of our favorites, but you can check out the tons of entries or take part yourself at The Hawkeye Initiative on Tumblr, or on twitter at @HawkInitiative. Please note that some of the pictures may be a bit NSFW!
