I am way, way too behind on individual stuff to really have much to say about why my pull list is such this week, but have a list anyway. With a comment or two, depending on if I’m actually caught up.

  • Feathers #2: I haven’t read the first issue yet, but I still like the idea and I’ll be reading both issues to see how I feel about it.
  • Postal #1: Looks like an interesting concept enough to check out the first issue.Operation SIN #2
  • Saga #25: DON’T GO BREAKING MY HEART.
  • Wytches #4: Still not caught up, but I plan on having a good time when I finally sit down and read all these issues. I’m steeling myself for that eyeball.
  • Ant-Man #2: I was incredibly dubious at first, but issue one really got to me. My Young Avengers love cringes at the idea of Cassie being moved so far away from her team, but we got a panel of them having a bonding night in a play house with an iPhone as giant TV, so I can forgive it.
  • Hawkeye #21: I almost forgot this was in the works. I don’t want it to end.
  • Ms Marvel #11: Kamala always!
  • Operation S.I.N. #2: Peggy punching Howard! Woodrow punching a bear! I want to frame that cover, just LOOK AT IT.
  • Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #2: No one can resist.

Angel

  • Saga #25: Okay Brian K. Vaughn, I’m ready to have my heart broken again.
  • Ant-Man #2: I didn’t plan on reading #1 until the last minute, and I’ve got to say, I really enjoyed it. My Ant-Man Saga_25-1knowledge is pretty thin, and Marvel releasing this just in time for people to brush up on Scott Lang before the film was a great idea.
  • Hawkeye #21: Fraction may have trouble ending things, and a lot of people may have issue with all of the delays in this book coming out, but I’m not entirely angry about it, if only because it means there’s still more Hawkeye to come. This book has been my favorite book to read every month it comes out and I’m really sad to see it end.
  • Ms. Marvel #11: It’s gotten to the point where I really don’t know what to say about how delightful Kamala Kahn is. Except to say that if there’s anyone in 616 who is guaranteed to make it through Secret Wars, it’s her.
  • Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #2: The first issue of this was really a lot of fun. It reminds me a lot of what BOOM! is doing with Lumberjanes, but not in the tumblr-comic way that comic sometimes comes off.

  • Angela: Asgard’s Assassin #3: I re-read the first issue the other day and the concept if not the character is growing on me, so I’m giving it another couple of issues to see how it starts shaking out. I do like a spot of myth and world-building.
  • Ant-Man #2: First issue was a lot of fun, so it seems like this kind of playful, light book is Spencer’s wheelhouse.
  • Avengers #41Avengers #41: Wait, you say, why is Hawkeye #21 not in the bold? It’s Hawkguy! And it was, until I realized which issue this was. See, I have this theory – we now know 616 doesn’t have any more incursions until the incursion. But logically that means the Ultimate Universe does have to survive a few, since we know they end up as the last ones or thereabouts. And then there’s this Avengers issue, which has the cover to Ultimates #1 repurposed. So it seems like 1610 is coming to the party now, and that, I am deeply interested in. Also I have trouble believing Hawkeye #21 is for real coming out this week.
  • Hawkeye #21: I have trouble believing Hawkeye #21 is for real coming out this week.
  • Ms Marvel #11: Is Ms Marvel! I don’t think there’s any big event-ness or guest stars this issue but it is certainly a title that survives without them.
  • Saga #25: Returns to find new ways to break my heart.
  • Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #2: The first one was a lot of fun. This one will also be a lot of fun! Watch as I repurpose those two sentences for every one of these in which USG appears in future.
  • Wytches #4: I think I meant to catch up to read 3 and then… did not, so now it’s catch up to read 4. But I feel like that says more about me than the comic itself.

  • Velvet #9: God, this book is gorgeous. I’m digging this arc even more than the first, though I think I’m due for a reread to make sure I’m getting the most out of each issue.VELVET009_COVER
  • Ant-Man #2: Scott Lang remains my favourite Ant-Man under Spencer’s pen. I hope he lives in that Tony Stark toy dream house forever.
  • Avengers #41: EVERYTHING ENDS. My thoughts on the upcoming Secret Wars and pizza-smashing-universes may be mixed, but damn, if it won’t be one helluva ride.
  • Hawkeye #21: Another book I’m gonna have to reread before diving into this issue. I love this book, but the release schedule killed a lot of its momentum.
  • Hulk #11: I’ve never been the biggest Hulk fan, but I’ve really been enjoying Duggan’s run.
  • Ms. Marvel #11: If the conversation turns towards comics, I am likely to push this book onto someone. Love it.
