Women of Marvel Memorable Moments Master List

Here we go! 97 moments 166 moments as suggested by you!  I was interested to see the variety on the list and some of the minor characters that got a mention.  Equally as surprising were characters that got almost no mention!

This is just a master list.  I may have missed a few so feel free to point it out, or even suggest a few more now that you see what’s up there.

Remember the character must have had agency in the moment.  It can’t simply be something that happened to her or was done to her.

From Sunday there will be NO MORE nominations.  From Monday we’ll have a series of polls, narrowing the field down to the 20 top moments.  Then a series of blog posts on those moments, and finally another poll to choose the top 5 memorable moments for Marvel Women.

• Despite being on the run after a coup upsets her position at S.W.O.R.D., Abigail Brand turns back toward Earth to save a group of migrant aliens from Norman’s Avengers in S.W.O.R.D. #3.
• After saving the whole organization not only from his coup but also an alien invasion, Abigail Brand gloats to Henry Peter Gyrich in S.W.O.R.D. #5.
• Abigail Brand, with boyfriend in tow, explain to the Drenxx ambassadors exactly how unpleasant it would be for them to invade Earth, using mops for illustration, in S.W.O.R.D. #5.
• Amiko kicks Wolverine’s ass and tells him off for forgetting about her.
• Angelica Jones defeats the Bastards of Evil by absorbing all of the radioactive energy that powers them and blasting it off into space in Young Allies #5.
• After a long day of wading through everyone’s demands on her, Angelica tells Emma Frost that she’ll live her life on her own terms, and that her various burdens are her choice in Young llies #6.
• Ms. Ann-Marie Hoag, CEO of Damage Control, arranges for SHIELD to buy out her company and put her back in charge, thwarting the Kingpin’s attempt at a total buyout.
• Anya Corazon completes her trials in the desert to become the Hunter of the Spider Society, clocks Miguel for leaving her out there so long
• Anya Corazon takes down Aftershock with nothing but a fire hose in Young Allies #4.
• Armor taking out the brainwashed Beast
• Aunt May not only realizing The Chameleon was impersonating Peter Parker but taking the time to A) bake him cookies full of sleeping pills and almond extract, B) knit a sweater with the word “Gotcha!” in it and C) reveal the aforementioned sweater and lie to him about the almond taste being /cyanide/ just before he passes out.
• Aunt May in the hospital reveals to Peter that she has known he was Spider-Man for all these years
• Beth Cabe defeats Whiplash. “I hate to be a nit-picker, Whiplash, but it wasn’t ‘nothin’ that stopped you–it was a Smith & Wesson!”
• Bethany Cabe forcing Tony Stark to face his alcoholism and then being a pillar of strength while he was going cold turkey in “Demon In A Bottle”.
• Betsy Braddock fighting (and defeating) Sabretooth with two broken ribs and a smile before joining the X-Men at the beggining of the mutant Massacre.
• Black Cat fought AND BEAT Sabretooth
• Caiera the Oldstrong going toe to toe with the Hulk
• When Binary (Carol Danvers) returns from space to visit the X-Men but finds Rogue first and before Rogue can explain Carol punches her straight into the upper portions of the atmosphere.
• Ms.Marvel single handedly destroys countless S.Skrulls in NY at the end of The Invasion.
• Carol Danvers telling off The Avengers for letting her down so completely
• Carol Danvers defeats Mystique while depowered.
• The introduction of Carol Danvers as Ms.Marvel in the 1970s
• Patriot/Eli Bradley tries to prevent Cassie Lang/Stature from entering the Avengers Mansion and in turn she kicks his ass
• Cecelia Reyes defending Nightcrawler from the Neo.
• Clea enabled Dr. Strange to defeat Dormammu back in WWII by weaving a sympathy spell all while she was held captive. Then she left him because she realized she didn’t love him as much as Victoria Blessing.
• Crystal of the Inhumans, during War of Kings, deciding to stop being a coddled princess and start using her title to help the common people her family is ignoring, becoming the “People’s Princess.”
• Dani Moonstar becoming Valkyrie again to single-handedly defeat Ares when the X-men faced off with the Dark Avengers
• Danielle Moonstar kicking ridiculous Limbo-mutant behind in Rise of the New Mutants.
• Dani Moonstar breaking Professor Xavier’s rules on her first day by customizing her uniform with Cheyenne accessories, informing him that she was an individual, and telling him if he didn’t like it she’d go home
• Dazzler showing up Havok by demonstrating control, finesse and proving how mega-power doesn’t mean mega-blasting everything in sight.
• Dazzler reminding her teammates that there is life beyond duties and orchestrates a girls day out.
• Dazzler making peace with her issues with Rogue and risking her life to save her.
• Dazzler owning her disco diva image; good and bad and declaring people deal with it.
• Cessily Kincaid/Mercury and Sooraya Qadir/Dust fight off the demon lord and sorcerer Belasco in Quest for Magik.
• Ronin being revealed to be Echo in disguise
• Elektra allowing herself to be killed as a means of infiltrating The Hand
• Elektra confronted Daredevil, she in full on assassin mode, later putting a sai through Ben Urich’s chest
• Elsa Bloodstone defeats Charlie America, points to her European Union flag t-shirt and says, “Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?”
• Elsa Bloodstone smashes a car with her guitar and makes the car explode in Nextwave#1.
• Emma Frost owning Iceman with his own powers
• A teenage Emma Frost snubbing her Father’s offer of being the full heir to the family fortune and declaring she would “go her own way”.
• Emma Frost stopping the fight between Beast and Wolveirne by controlling them and making them bow
• When Faiza Hussan becomes the wielder of Excalibur
• When Faiza prays, readying herself to do split-second ultra-healing to save her and Dane from being splattered to death after their plane is destroyed.
• Gamora exposes herself to fire (and charres her entire body in the process) to save the Guardians of the Galaxy.
• Gertrude Yorkes walks into a fire and taunts Wilder into attacking (and killing) her, saving Chase and Molly.
• Gertrude Hayes lecturing Spider-Man over sushi.
• Wu Ao-Shi defeats Shou-Lao and becomes the first female Iron Fist.
• Jean Grey sacrificing herself at the end of the Dark Phoenix Saga.
• Phoenix looking back on history from The White Hot Room and encouraging Scott Summers to move on and be with Emma Frost so that the X-Men would survive and he would be happy.
• When Jean burns away Emma’s defenses and makes her re-witness her life. “But the fire of the Phoenix burns through lies, you understand? The gaze of the Phoenix is like an x-ray tearing through every self-deception. So burn, Emma!”
• When Jean Grey proposes to Scott Summers
• Professor X’ consciousness was imprisoned in his sister’s dying body, due to a mind-switch she performed. To save her mentor, Jean stored Xavier’s psyche in her own body, in addition to her own psyche. It was too much for her, so she split his mind and stored the pieces in a million other minds and then put it back together
• Jean Grey comforts Jubilee after the death of Magick “Jubilee, we come INTO this world alone…and we LEAVE the same way…the time we spend in between…time spent alive, sharing, learning…together…is all that makes life worth living.”
• Phoenix, aided with the spirits of the other X-Men, heals the M’Kraan Crystal and saves the universe.
• Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman gives up her immunity power to save Hank Pym.
• Jess as a teen masturbating to images of Johnny Storm
• Jessica Jones breaking free of the Purple Man’s mental control then punching Purple Man in the face.
• Jess teaming up with Spider-Woman.

• When Colossus is stuck in his metal form, and Kitty calls him down as if she’s going to join him and Magneto. She betrayed him to Moira and whilst she knew it was the right choice, I don’t think she ever quite forgave herself for that.
• When Kitty overcomes Ogun’s brainwashing
• Calling Professor X a jerk for demoting her to New Mutants
• The exchange between Kitty and Emma Frost at the end of Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men
• Layla Miller arranges a series of events that leads to an attacking member of Singularity Investigations being electrocuted to death, knocking out the power. Layla turns on a flashlight in the ensuing blackout and is shown holding the missing screw that led to the entire series of events, and she grimly informs the reader that “she knows stuff.”
• Madelyne Pryor punches Cyclops for asking her if she’s Jean Grey.
• Maria Hill prying a control disc off of the back of her neck
• Maria Hill saves Iron Man, calls him out on his crappy attitude and reveals that she knows she’s being set up for failure by the powers that be and isn’t going to take it anymore.
• Maria Hill takes down the Skrull infested helicarrier in Secret Invasion.
• Maria Hill takes on the U-Foes with a bazooka and saves Thor in Siege.
• Phyla-Vel becoming Martyr and her new attitude
• Marvel Girl and Scarlet Witch team up and become “The Marvel Witch!” to defeat the Mole Man
• Mary Jane Watson chooses to stay with Peter (after he tried to push her away) and comfort him after Gwen Stacy’s murder.
• Mary Jane beats the Chameleon with a baseball bat.
• Norman kidnaps Mary Jane and prepares to throw her off a bridge. MJ pulls out her gun (we saw her with it earlier in the story) and shoots Norman.
• Mayday Parker has temporarily lost her powers and she has been kidnapped by Normie Osborn who wants to put an end to the whole Spider/Goblin War. Normie tells May that the only way to end it is if one of them dies. It’s not til May realizes Normie wants her break free and stab in the him in the ensueing battle but May refuses and tells Normie that she won’t give up on him and they can find another way to stop the war. Normie struggles with the knife and in the end cuts her bonds disappointed in his weakness that he is unable to kill her or himself. May comforts him, tells him to have faith in himself and they are through fighting each other. It is May’s value for life and her hope for Normie that puts an end to the Parker/Osborn war.
• Medusa slammed Iron Man against the wall after retrieving Black Bolt’s body.
• Medusa beat the heck out of Venom in Beyond.
• Meggan finally choosing a superheroine identity for herself – Gloriana – and creating a sanctuary named Elysium in Hell itself.
• Misty Knight and Colleen Wing OWNED the Rhino
• Mockingbird meets Hawkeye for the first time… and knocks him to the ground and sits on him, her staves at his throat
• Mockingbird leaves Hawkeye and the West Coast Avengers after he finds out she allowed her kidnapper/rapist die
• Mockingbird vs. Monica Rappaccini: “This isn’t a catfight. This is me kicking your ass.”
• Mockingbird taking on the Wrecking Crew alone (using BuckyCap’s shield and pistol) when the rest of the New Avengers are knocked out
• Mockingbird landing the Quinjet on Norman Osborn and calling the Avengers to assemble
• Molly Hayes takes out The Punisher without even really trying.

• Rachel Grey finally finds the man who murdered all her relatives from her mother’s side and squishes his head.
• Rikki Barnes fights off the brainwashing of the Secret Empire to quell a riot they manufactured
• After a long and trying fight together against the Secret Empire, Rikki Barnes enrolls in Anya Corazon’s school and the two become best friends in Captain America #605.
• Rita DeMara proves her worth to the future Guardians of the Galaxy by saving Charlie-27′s life.

• Sharon Carter giving herself an abortion to prevent the Red Skull from using her and the still developing fetus in some nefarious experiment
• She-Hulk winning a legal argument with The Living Tribunal to ensure the continued existence of the universe.
• She-Hulk defeating The Champion (who had an the Power Infinity Gem at the time) in the ring by using her brain to classify it as a “foreign object” and her brawn to take him down without it.
• She-Hulk having absolutely zero problem with being stuck in her She-Hulk form after saving the world from superintelligent cockroaches.
• When She Hulk schooled The Champion, after a slew of male heroes FAILED
• She-Hulk, Clea, Marvel Girl, Scarlet Witch, Hellcat, Mary Jane, and Millie the Model team up to defeat Enchantress and her minions.
• Despite the fact that the Panther God turned his back on her, Shuri still takes up the mantle of the Black Panther to defend Wakanda.
• Siryn goes home to Ireland to spend a few weeks working through her alcoholism issues, eventually confronting her uncle (aka Black Tom) about how he raised her before deciding she no longer needs alcohol
• Siryn levels an entire city block with her scream to protect the people of Mutant Town
• After being beaten and left for dead then kidnapped and tied up by a former mutant gone insane, Siryn refuses to be scared; she manages to save herself moments before Rictor comes to her rescue

• Our current Spider-Girl, Anya, refusing to let her father’s death break her and continuing her nonpowered superhero career.
• Squirrel Girl defeating Thanos
